LA Times wrote an article that features McKamey Manor. In the article it specifically calls out Blackout followed by Mckamey Manor. Some argue that Blackout was the genre establishing first extreme haunt.

In San Diego, the McKamey Manor home haunt funnels those willing to sign a legal waiver through a gauntlet of monsters that touch, grab and shove their victims.”
